The noncollinear antiferromagnet Mn3Sn is a model material for antiferromagnetic spintronics due to its topological transport phenomena. However, direct observation of its magnetic texture has been challenging due to the extremely small moment from its magnetic octupole order. The authors use here a diamond-based quantum scanning microscope to sensitively map stray magnetic fields at the nanoscale, visualizing the intrinsic magnetic domains and chiral domain walls in a single-crystalline Mn3Sn thin film. The results provide quantitative evidence of octupole ordering and open new directions for exploring chiral antiferromagnetism in spintronic applications.

Here, the authors identify and characterize the superconducting phase in KxFe2−ySe2. The Fe:Se ratio in the superconducting phase, along with the number, symmetry, and frequencies of the phonon modes, is consistent with the FeSe layers, indicating that the superconducting phase in the striped regions retains an approximately intact FeSe layer. The findings underscore the critical role of the intact FeSe layer in FeSe-based superconductors and provide new insights into the mechanism of high-temperature superconductivity.
