s±-wave superconductivity in the bilayer two-orbital Hubbard model

Phys. Rev. B 111, 035108 (2025) - Published 3 January, 2025

This study explores superconductivity in a bilayer, two-orbital Hubbard model inspired by the nickelate superconductor La3Ni2O7. Using cluster dynamical mean-field theory, the authors examine how the s±-wave superconducting Tc depends on the hopping t⊥ between interlayer dz2 orbitals and the hybridization V between intralayer dz2 and dx2−y2 orbitals. The findings support a theory of “two-component” superconductivity, highlighting distinct roles played by the two eg orbitals in the pairing mechanism.
