Spectral properties and zero-energy degeneracy provide a way to characterize thermalization in nonintegrable quantum many-body systems. This work studies a bond-staggered Heisenberg chain with spectral reflection symmetry and continuous non-Abelian SU(2) symmetry, using character theory to count exponentially many zero-energy states and constructing exact low-entangled few-magnon eigenstates that are stable under many perturbations.

Daniel Spasic-Mlacak and Nigel R. Cooper

Phys. Rev. Research 8, L022063 (2026) - Published 29 June, 2026

Motivated by polaritonic platforms, this work investigates how nonlocal confinement affects the edge physics of fractional quantum Hall systems. It is found that the conventional edge modes are lost, to be replaced by new modes arising from bulk excitations—such as the graviton and quasielectron—that become gapless at the boundary.

Phys. Rev. Research 8, L022058 (2026) - Published 25 June, 2026

Researchers demonstrate intrinsic nonreciprocal thermoelectric transport in electron-phonon coupled nanowire devices, arising from asymmetric phonon emission and absorption and structural asymmetry. The intrinsic nonreciprocity results in a load-resistor resistance reduction effect that violates Ohm’s addition law in the incoherent limit.
