Application of fundamental principles of quantum gravity (Swampland Program) to dark energy leads to a single large (mesoscopic) extra dimension, denoted Dark Dimension. Assuming a standard grand unification of forces, the authors make several predictions based on swampland conditions and experimental bounds like the proton lifetime: the proton decay mediating boson is a solitonic string stretched in the dark dimension of mass 1015−1016 GeV, defining an upper GUT scale ≲1016 GeV; a tower of Kaluza-Klein excitations in the 1−10 TeV range, a promising candidate for dark matter; a Higgs mass in the correct range. Excitingly, some of these predictions will soon be within experimental reach.
