Unraveling time- and frequency-resolved nuclear resonant scattering spectra

Lukas Wolff and Jörg Evers

Phys. Rev. Research 5, 013071 (2023) - Published 1 February, 2023

A data analysis scheme for time- and frequency-resolved nuclear resonant scattering is proposed. It provides access to the resonance structure of Mössbauer samples and allows one to retrieve the phase-resolved nuclear resonant target response, which is of major interest in the rapidly developing field of x-ray quantum optics.

Phys. Rev. Research 5, L012012 (2023) - Published 30 January, 2023

Topological phase transitions and Majorana-like, spectral-gap-protected edge states are observed in quasi-one-dimensional mechanical metamaterials, analogous to the Kitaev chain. An analog to parity switching, which forms the basis of Majorana zero mode qubits, is demonstrated.

A combined density functional theory and resonant elastic x-ray scattering technique is implemented to demonstrate the role of charge multipole correlation and order in a 5d1 double perovskite compound that is driven by a complex coupled spin, charge, multipole, and structural order.

Superconductivity of repulsive spinless fermions with sublattice potentials

Phys. Rev. Research 5, L012009 (2023) - Published 26 January, 2023

Unconventional superconductity can be induced by electron–electron repulsion and is influenced by the lattice symmetries. Here, various types of unconventional superconductivity are shown to be realized on the square and the honeycomb lattice with sublattice potentials.
