"Distribution of the average interaction strength of the outermost protons and neutrons, δ V_pn, plotted against proton number (vertical) and neutron number (horizontal). Quadrants are defined by the Z=82 proton and N=126 neutron shell closures. The result for ²¹⁰Pb is the first experimentally obtained δ V_pn in the lower right quadrant.
