    Abstract

We have accumulated a sample of ∼ 400 η′(958) decays in the modes (1) η′→π+π−γ and (2) η′→π+π−ηN0 (N=neutraldecay) from a 15.4-eV/μb study of K−p interactions at 2.89 GeVc. We find a branching ratio R=(1)(2)=1.11±0.18, where (1) is entirely η′→ρ0γ. A matrix-element analysis yields JP(η′)=0−,2− as acceptable values for both samples. Production-decay angular correlations suggest that a JP=2− assignment is unlikely.
