    Abstract

We investigate the relations between the Kl3 and τ→Kπντ decays using the meson dominance approach. First, the experimental branching fractions (BF) for Ke3± and Ke30 are used to fix two normalization constants (isospin invariance is not assumed). Then, the BF of τ−→K*(892)−ντ is calculated in agreement with experiment. We further argue that the nonzero value of the slope parameter λ0 of the Kμ3± and Kμ30 form factors f0(t) implies the existence of the τ−→K0*(1430)−ντ decay. We calculate its BF, together with the BF’s of the Kμ3±, Kμ30, τ−→K−π0ντ, and τ−→K0π−ντ decays, as a function of the λ0 parameter. At some value of λ0, different for charged and neutral kaons, the calculated BF’s seem to match existing data and a prediction is obtained for the τ→Kπν decays going through the K0*(1430)− resonance.
