Abstract
The antimagnetic rotation (AMR) on the neutron-deficient Cd isotopes is investigated. The observed negative-parity yrast band with in and the positive-parity band with in are fitted by using the cranked shell model plus a particle-number conserving method. For the two bands above backbending, the calculated values display a decreasing tendency with the increasing of rotational frequency and the two-shears-like mechanism is clearly presented, thus conforming to the characteristics of AMR. On the other hand, the available experimental data indicate that Cd isotopes with do not meet the basic conditions for the existence of AMR bands. Therefore, it is judged that the Cd AMR chain may terminate at .
