There has been much recent interest in understanding entanglement dynamics and operator spreading in the Haar random circuit and Brownian circuit, which can be unified as locally scrambled quantum evolutions. Here, the authors prove that the entanglement dynamics for such quantum dynamics is Markovian and introduce the entanglement feature formulation to describe entanglement dynamics with an imaginary-time Schrödinger equation. This work opens up new possibilities to apply the quantum many-body physics techniques to tackle the entanglement dynamics problem.

Controllable antiferromagnetic alignment of magnetizations is vital for the systematic study of antiferromagnetic spintronics. Along this path, antiferromagnetically coupled metallic superlattices are promising systems, exploiting the interlayer exchange coupling. Here, the authors report that, as a spacer-layer material sandwiched between ferromagnetic cobalt layers, nonmagnetic Ir-doped Cu exhibits simultaneously a definite interlayer exchange coupling and an appreciable spin-orbit torque. This experimental demonstration and findings offer an avenue to antiferromagnetic spintronics, based on antiferromagnetically coupled metallic superlattices.

Recently, there has been much interest in enhancing superconductivity using optical toolboxes. Here, motivated by the recent experimental advances in engineering surface plasmon polaritons, the authors propose a new method for enhancing superconductivity in cuprates via melting the collective fluctuations of the competing orders. Exploiting the fact that, in cuprates, superconductivity and charge density waves compete with each other, they derive the optical properties of the gapless collective fluctuations of the charge density wave. It is demonstrated that by using an intermediate surface plasmon polariton material, these collective modes can be excited optically. This leads to a more efficient melting of the charge density wave, whereby stronger enhancements of superconductivity can be achieved.
