Abstract
This Letter presents the design and measurement of two different metastructures based on a complementary metallic plate array spoof surface plasmon polariton structure. The voltage transmitted through the structures was measured with respect to the frequency and angle of incidence of the wave impinging on the surface for both transverse magnetic (TM)-polarized and transverse electric (TE)-polarized waves. The results were then compared with simulation results obtained through Floquet analysis with periodic boundaries. The measurement results are in good agreement with the simulation results, confirming that the shift in the resonance frequency of the structure depends on the angle of incidence and polarization of the impinging wave, which indicates that this angle dependence dataset provides direct experimental information on the band structure achievable by these metasurfaces.
