Biomolecular condensates are compartments that spatially organize living cells by providing distinct physicochemical environments for biochemical processes in space and time. They are highly dynamic, manifested in their nucleation, fusion, growth, and dissolution, as well as molecular diffusion inside condensates. We welcome primary research articles that aim to understand condensates’ effects in living cells, which require interdisciplinary approaches, interfacing biology, chemistry, and biological physics.
We encourage submissions on key questions related to quantifying condensate properties, the principles regulating chemical processes inside condensates, and the molecular interactions of proteins and RNAs inside and at the condensates’ interfaces.
The collection is open for submissions until March 31, 2026. Papers will appear on a rolling basis. Please mention in the cover letter that you would like your paper to be considered for the 2025 Collection on “Physics of Biomolecular Condensates“.
