Physical Review Materials Open for Submissions

APS is now accepting submissions for Physical Review Materials, the newest member of the Physical Review family of journals. PRMaterials expands the scope of the existing APS journals beyond their current emphasis on the physics of materials and will begin publishing mid-2017.

Chris Leighton, Distinguished McKnight University Professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of Minnesota, has been selected as the inaugural editor of PRMaterials. Professor Leighton received his Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from the University of Durham in the U.K. His research deals with the electronic and magnetic properties of a wide variety of novel materials, films, and structures. He currently serves as chair of the APS Topical Group on Magnetism and its Applications and is a Fellow of the APS. He will work closely with a distinguished and diverse editorial board to position PRMaterials as a leading publication in the field of materials research.

PRMaterials offers a publication option for a wide variety of materials research, including papers that analyze, characterize, design, or synthesize novel materials of great interest to the multidisciplinary community engaged in materials research. PRMaterials particularly welcomes papers that transcend conventional subject boundaries and are presented in a form accessible to readers from different disciplines.

PRMaterials welcomes your submission and will publish both regular articles and Rapid Communications. For additional information about the scope or to submit your research, visit the PRMaterials website.
