APS is delighted to announce the appointment of Ram Seshadri as the newest Lead Editor of Physical Review Materials. Ram is currently the Fred and Linda R. Wudl Professor of Materials Science and a Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), with appointments in the Materials Department and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He joined UCSB in 2002 and has served as the Director of the National Science Foundation Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (NSF–MRSEC) since 2015. His research focuses on understanding structure–composition–property relationships in functional inorganic and hybrid materials. Ram is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Neutron Scattering Society of America. Ram’s tenure at Physical Review Materials begins September 1st.
