Abstract
Approximately 25-nm-thick epitaxial thin films were deposited on (001) by molecular beam epitaxy, and the existence of a magnetization compensation composition of approximately 0.15 at room temperature was demonstrated. The substitution of Mn by Pd at the corner sites was confirmed by x-ray absorption near-edge structure measurements. The magnetic field-dependent x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) spectra revealed that the magnetic structure of was significantly different below and above . This result is different from previously reported Ni- and Co-doped epitaxial thin films. The magnetic structure of was assessed based on various magnetic properties, such as magnetization curves, anomalous Hall effect loops, magneto-optical Kerr effect loops, and XMCD spectra.
