Phonon-dispersion relations for the symmetric [100], [110], and [111] branches in fcc krypton have been measured by triple-axis neutron spectrometry. Measurements were carried out at 79°K on a single-crystal sample grown from the melt at a pressure of 2.31 kbar.

We have observed for very narrow tin films a depression of the superconducting transition temperature below that of wider portions of the same films. We propose a model which accounts for this depression and also suggests a condition on the maximum microwave enhancement of critical current in narrow thin-film bridges as observed by Wyatt et al.

Spin-fluctuation-induced mass renormalization in Pd is shown to be partially suppressed by a Hund's-rule coupling between concentrations of holes at different square faces of the fcc Brillouin zone.

A Dicke radiometer (3.2-cm wavelength) was used to make daily scans near the celestial equator to look for possible anisotropy in the cosmic blackbody radiation. After about one year of intermittent operation we find no 24-h asymmetry with an amplitude greater than ±0.1% (of 3°K). There is, however, a possibly significant 12-h anisotropy with an amplitude of about 0.2%.

It is predicted that baryon trajectories continue to rise for quite large energies. The $\rho$ Regge amplitude, along with the direct-channel contribution written in the Khuri representation, gives excellent fits to the polarization and the differential cross-section data, even though the elasticity factors involved are quite small. At a given energy $W$, the direct-channel contribution is predominantly imaginary and comes mainly from partial waves in the neighborhood of $J\simeq \mathrm{Re}\alpha \mathrm{}\left(W\right)\mathrm{}$.

A strongly repulsive three-body $\Lambda \mathrm{NN}$ force is proposed for the explanation of some exceptionally large binding-energy differences in the $p$-shell hypernuclei. It is argued that heavy hypernuclei maintain their stability.

The reaction $\gamma +p\to {\pi }^{+}+n$ has been investigated for photon energies between 1.2 and 3 GeV and pion c.m. angles from 2.5 to 15°. The cross section is strongly peaked in the forward direction and shows resonance structure in the region of the ${N_{\frac{3}{2}}}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(1920\right)\mathrm{}$ and ${N_{\frac{1}{2}}}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(2190\right)\mathrm{}$.

The dielectric constant of He II has been experimentally found to be independent of rotation to 1 part in ${10}^7$, the sensitivity of the measurement, for angular rotation rates up to 12 rad/sec between 1.4 and 2.15°K.

The results of two years of operation of a 1660-cps gravitational-wave detector are reviewed. The possibility that some gravitational signals may have been observed cannot completely be ruled out. New gravimeter-noise data enable us to place low limits on gravitational radiation in the vicinity of the earth's normal modes near one cycle per hour, implying an energy-density limit over a given detection mode smaller than that needed to provide a closed universe.

The result of recent measurements of the ${K_1}^0-{K_2}^0$ mass difference has been used as a test of various solutions to $s$-wave $\pi \pi$ scattering which are obtained by solving the full $\frac{N}{D}$ equations with various given forms of the driving force. Certain features of these solutions with regard to the evaluation of the mass difference are also pointed out.

Two sum rules are derived, relating moments of the spectral functions of the vector and axial-vector currents. If it is assumed that the $\rho$ and $A1\mathrm{}$ mesons dominate these moments, then their masses must be in the ratio $\frac{m_{A1\mathrm{}}}{m_{\rho }}=\sqrt{2}$, in very good agreement with experiment.
