The antimagnetic rotation (AMR) on the neutron-deficient side of Cd isotopes is investigated. The observed negative-parity yrast band with α = −1/2 in 103Cd and the positive-parity band with α = 0 in 104Cd are fitted by using the cranked shell model plus a particle-number conserving method. For the two bands above backbending, the calculated B(E2) values display a decreasing tendency with the increasing of rotational frequency and the two-shears-like mechanism is clearly presented, thus conforming to the characteristics of AMR. On the other hand, the available experimental data indicates that Cd isotopes with A < 103 do not meet the basic conditions for the existence of AMR bands. Therefore, it is judged that the Cd AMR chain may terminate at 103, 104Cd.
