    Abstract

The Li7(He3,d)Be*8(p)Li7 reaction was measured at Elab(He3)=28 MeV for studying the Be7(n,p1)Li*7 reaction, which is a Be7 destruction reaction in the big bang nucleosynthesis. Resonant states at 18.9–20.1 MeV in Be8 were populated by the Li7(He3,d)Be*8 reaction and decay protons to the ground (p0) and first-excited states (p1) in Li7 were well separated and measured. The resonance width Γ and branching ratio Γp1/Γp0 for the 19.40-MeV state in Be8 were deduced to be 342±112 keV and 11.2±3.5±5.0 (syst.)%, respectively. The Be7(n,p1)Li*7 reaction cross section was deduced.
