Abstract

Within the shell-model framework, we have derived a new effective interaction from the realistic N3LO interaction to provide an accurate description of the nuclear structure properties of even-even nuclei with 50≤Z, N≤82, in the Sn132 mass region. We validate our theoretical framework and the reliability of the new effective interaction by comparing the calculated energy levels, E2 transition rates, and magnetic dipole moments with experimental data. Special attention is devoted to the evolution of collectivity; an in-depth study of the quadrupole properties of different nuclei in this region reveals the presence of triaxial γ bands.
