    Abstract

Based on the empirical coupled-channel model for calculating the capture cross section and the statistical model for calculating the survival probability, we apply the dinuclear system model for investigating the synthesis of superheavy element 116. The theoretical results can systematically reproduce the experimental data of the reactions Ca48+Cm248, Ti50+Pu242, Ti50+Pu244, and Cr54+U238. Simultaneously, the reactions Sc45+Am243, V51+Np237, Mn55+Pa231, and Fe58+Th232 are investigated. The results show that the calculated maximal evaporation-residue cross section is about 0.25 pb.
