Abstract
The origin of Néel-type magnetic skyrmion formation in the two-dimensional magnetic material is of significant theoretical interest due to its potential applications in spintronic devices. In this study, we investigate the magnetic exchange interactions in monolayers using density functional theory and Monte Carlo simulations. Our findings highlight the critical role of spin-orbit coupling (SOC) in the formation of noncollinear magnetic textures in . We demonstrate that the energy differences induced by SOC vary with the spin-spiral vector, and that SOC significantly influences higher-order exchange interactions, which further affect the stability and formation of magnetic textures, including skyrmions.
