Abstract
Transport and magnetotransport properties of the single-atom-thick kagome compound on Si(111) were explored in situ using the linear four-point-probe technique within a temperature range from 2.5 to 40 K and at the magnetic field varied from to . Our results revealed that displays the occurrence of the magnetic critical temperature of 5 K and two successive magnetoresistance jumps at the magnetic fields of 0.2 T and approximately 1.0 T, both exhibiting considerable hysteresis. Our density functional theory analysis suggests that the ground-state magnetic configuration of the single-atomic-layer metallic is possibly striped antiferromagnetic, with Eu magnetic moments aligned perpendicular to the surface. The occurrence of the magnetic hysteresis at the field-induced transitions is a signature of the first-order transitions and magnetocrystalline anisotropy in the system.
