Abstract

We report on high-pressure magnetotransport study of itinerant chiral magnet FeGe with near-room-temperature (Tc=278 K) helical/skyrmion spin texture. The pressure-induced reduction of exchange splitting leads to the Fermi surface reconstruction upon quantum phase transition (QPT) at P ∼19 GPa as well as the suqsequent transition into the degenerate semiconductor state. Furthermore, we discover unconventional spontaneous anomalous Hall effect in the short-range-order chiral-spin ground state above QPT, signifying macroscopic time-reversal symmetry breaking. Our results highlight the high-Tc itinerant magnets with broken inversion symmetry as promising candidates for ground state formation near QPT.
