Abstract
Solid-state phonon lasers are crucial quantum transducers that can couple to versatile quantum systems and yet suffer from short-lifetime states due to the noisy environment. Here, we show a scheme to realize dissipation-robust surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) phonon lasing within strain-susceptible silicon-vacancy (-) center in diamond. The robustness is achieved by coupling the - qubit to the SAW-phonon mode through transitions in a harmonic ladder of optically prepared long-lived dark states. Moreover, due to the interplay between the SAW-phonon spin and the --qubit spin, as well as the spin-momentum locking of the SAW, we show the phonon-spin-selected unidirectional lasing of coherent SAW phonons. Our results provide an efficient path for the robust solid-state SAW-phonon laser and pave the way toward phonon-spin-mediated hybrid quantum systems.
