Matthew S. Winnel, Nedasadat Hosseinidehaj, and Timothy C. Ralph

Phys. Rev. A 104, 012411 (2021) - Published 13 July, 2021

The authors explore the information leakage in a continuous-variable communication protocol in quantum key distribution due to the asymmetry of the protocol. The proposed symmetric minimum-leakage heralding protocol asymptotically eliminates information leakage in a pure-loss channel and minimizes leakage in a noisy channel.

Adaptive filtering of projective quantum measurements using discrete stochastic methods

Riddhi Swaroop Gupta and Michael J. Biercuk

Phys. Rev. A 104, 012412 (2021) - Published 13 July, 2021

The authors discuss the application of classical filtering techniques to the problem of discrete projective measurements in quantum systems, and demonstrate that the theoretical basis of classical nonlinear filtering applies in this context. The results may pave the way for broader adoption of control-theoretic techniques in quantum technology.
