Phys. Rev. A 104, L060201 (2021) - Published 9 December, 2021

The authors demonstrate that, under mild measurement assumptions, two qubits cannot both be recycled to generate Bell nonlocality between multiple independent observers on each side. The authors also derive corresponding “one-sided monogamy relations” that rule out two-sided recycling for a wide range of parameters and propose a possible experimental test.

Classicality of the heat produced by quantum measurements

M. Hamed Mohammady

Phys. Rev. A 104, 062202 (2021) - Published 8 December, 2021

Quantum measurements can be expressed in a thermodynamic context. Here, they are broken down into a series of distinct steps and the consequent energetic changes — work and heat — are investigated. When the assumption is made that the measurement outcome must be stable over time, the heat fluctuations from a quantum measurement are shown to be necessarily classical.
