Phys. Rev. A 106, L051101 (2022) - Published 22 November, 2022

The authors show that polaritons of systems that do not exhibit metastable states in the absence of quantum light cannot enter the continuum and become giant diffuse polaritons, but the situation changes due to interactions with the environment. It is shown that the explicit inclusion of the continuum is crucial for computing the lifetime of the resulting metastable polaritons.

Resurgent revivals in bosonic quantum gases: A striking signature of many-body quantum interferences

Peter Schlagheck, Denis Ullmo, Gabriel M. Lando, and Steven Tomsovic

Phys. Rev. A 106, L051302 (2022) - Published 22 November, 2022

Bosonic matter-wave revivals provide a signature of many-body quantum interferences. The authors show that they are strongly impacted by dynamical competition between intersite tunneling and strong onsite interactions, which can lead to resurgent revivals, occupancy oscillations, and rapidly varying occupancy probabilities, all linked by an intriguing antisynchronization.
