We are not seeking from you a report which would be suitable for sending to author(s) and/or referee(s), but advice which will aid the editors in reaching a decision based on the existing reports and correspondence. An informal e-mail note, or telephone conversation with the editor, will usually suffice. The enclosed material may include a note from the editor indicating the points on which advice is particularly sought.
