Possible quasimolecular bands in S32

Abstract

Below the 16O+16O threshold, positive- and negative-parity bands at Ex=11–17 MeV in S32 are identified, whose moments of inertia and α-reduced widths indicate possible quasimolecular bands of 16O+16O and of some asymmetric configuration.
