Abstract
The singular perturbation method is used in this paper to study the effects of the inertial term in the single-particle model for charge-density-wave systems mainly in the sliding regime. The inertial term leads to ‘‘ringing’’ phenomena when a pulse field is applied. The theoretical results are qualitatively consistent with the experimental observations.
