Comments on the approximations used in the calculation of donor binding energies in Si-doped ${\mathrm{Al}}_{\mathrm{x}}$${\mathrm{Ga}}_{1\mathrm{-}\mathrm{x}}$As are presented. The relation of intervalley kinetic energy and the cutoff of point-charge potential in the intervalley effective-mass theory is discussed.
