At the Louis Costrell Awards Session held during NAPAC19 in Lansing, Michigan, the 2019 Robert H. Siemann Award for outstanding contributions to the PRAB journal was bestowed upon Stanley “Stan” Schriber, Professor Emeritus of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and Michigan State University (MSU), and former Secretary/Treasurer of the APS Division of Physics of Beams.
Prof. Schriber represented the APS Division of Physics of Beams at numerous PRAB Editorial Board meetings. He proved a strong supporter of scholarly publication in accelerator science and technology. The award citation also emphasizes Dr. Schriber’s essential help in establishing the sponsorship of PRAB by several major conference series.
The award, named after PRST-AB/PRAB founding editor, the late Robert H. Siemann, was established in 2012 by the editors of PRST-AB (now PRAB) in order to recognize significant contributions to the journal. It consists of a PRAB pin and certificate citing the contributions made by the recipient. The 2019 award was conferred during the Louis Costrell Awards Session of the NAPAC19 conference.
The Robert H. Siemann Award is ordinarily given to one person, but may be shared when several recipients have contributed to the same accomplishment. Nomination proposals can be sent to the PRAB Editor and be made by any present or former PRAB Editorial Board member and by PRAB Editorial Staff.
