Abstract
We demonstrate, both theoretically and experimentally, a non-Hermitian super-kagome lattice in which higher-order topological corner states emerge solely through the embedding of loss sites. By employing isospectral reduction, we elucidate the underlying mechanism of loss-induced topology. This approach allows direct manipulation of topological states simply by tuning the loss, without altering the coupling parameters. Experimentally, we observe zero-energy corner states in non-Hermitian super-kagome waveguide lattices, in agreement with our theoretical predictions. Our findings open alternative avenues for realizing and controlling topological states, offering innovative strategies for light manipulation and the development of next-generation photonic devices.
