Abstract
A novel solid-gas dual-target configuration is employed to investigate the process of ultraviolet-assisted high harmonic generation (HHG) in gases. A distinct phenomenon of spectral splitting and bandwidth widening was observed in the experiment. The theoretical simulations are in good agreement with the experimental results, confirming the selective enhancement of long trajectory contributions in HHG under this experimental configuration. Once a delay control element is added, our scheme has the potential to precisely enhance different quantum path in HHG.
