    Abstract

We theoretically investigate frequency comb generation in an optomechanical system compred of a whispering-gallery-mode microresonator and a sensor. We find that tuning the coupling strength via a unidirectional waveguide and adjusting the optical phase with a phase shifter can induce frequency comb generation. The underlying mechanism for this phenomenon is steering the system parameters toward the vicinity of an exceptional point, which dynamically enhances the optomechanical nonlinearity, gives rise to frequency comb generation. Our work may have potential application value in sensing and metrology.
