Abstract

Using only the analytic structure of the amplitude for atom-atom scattering as derived by Feinberg and Sucher, a direct derivation of the threshold behavior of the partial-wave amplitudes is given. The behavior is, as expected, characteristic of scattering from an $R^{- 7}$ potential.
