Abstract
This study systematically measures the absolute cross sections for single and double electron capture in collisions of (1.4–20 keV/u) and (1.05–17.5 keV/u) ions with and He targets. We investigate the influence of the target's first ionization potential, projectile charge state, and collision energy on electron capture cross sections, with comparative analysis against scaling laws and predictions from the absorbing sphere model. These results provide insights into the mechanisms governing collisions between highly charged ions and atomic systems, offering valuable references for theoretical development and practical applications in plasma collisions.
