After serving more than 18 years in total as a remote Associate Editor for Physical Review E, and then Physical Review A, Mark Saffman (University of Wisconsin-Madison) has retired from his position. Mark started out handling classical optics for PRE and moved over to PRA in 2007 when optics papers were “reunified” in PRA. During his tenure, Mark handled more than 7600 manuscripts and played an integral part in maintaining the high standards of PRA. We thank Mark for his invaluable counsel on editorial matters and for his many years of dedication to the journals.
