Calculations of Ground-State Properties of Liquid He4 Droplets

Abstract

Quantum mechanical calculations of the ground states of droplets of N atoms of He4 are reported. The calculations have been made by the variational Monte Carlo method for 4<~N<~728 and by the Green's function Monte Carlo method for 3<~N<~112. The energies, rms radii, and density distributions are reported; liquid-drop fits to the energies and radii are discussed.
