Multiple-Scattering Expansions for Moderate-Energy Particle-Deuteron Scattering

Abstract

A multiple-scattering expansion based on a fixed-scatterer approximation is conjectured to be more appropriate for discussing the small-angle elastic scattering of particles from deuterium than the expansion derived from the Faddeev equations. Some computations carried out for nucleon-deuteron scattering in the energy range 10-100 MeV seem to lend support to this conjecture.
