E6 transition in Fe53

Abstract

The 192-72- E6 transition in Fe53 is calculated in a model including all basis states of the configurations (f72)13IT and [(f72)12IT×f52]IT. Several interactions, which yield the observed amount of f52 configuration mixing, have been considered. In all cases an effective charge δ-0.4 is needed to fit experiment (where ep=1+δ, en=δ).
